Our beginnings
THE EARTH
In the Penedès area, a few kilometers from the Mediterranean Sea, is the Garrido family winery. A fertile land, caressed by the coastal breeze, and kissed by the Mediterranean sun that gives a unique and personal character to the wines. For more than 40 years, they have lovingly worked this land blessed by a temperate climate and aged vines to produce premium sparkling wines.
The Garrido family has been working all these years with sustainability in mind to produce an artisanal, authentic, exceptional and truly environmentally friendly product.
THE FAMILY
The surname Garrido is a quintessential part of the wine history of the Penedès. Descendants of an entire generation dedicated to wine production in Jerez, they decided, in the 70s, to move to Sant Sadurní d'Anoia. With all the dedication and professionalism accumulated over more than thirty-five years, they began working in the Codorniu cava cellars.
In 1984, Antonio Garrido opened his own cava winery and firmly put into practice his extensive knowledge of artisanal and traditional production. Respecting the highest quality standards learned at Codorniu, and starting from its origins and its personal obsession with controlled fermentation to obtain the most natural product possible. Finally, Antonio obtains an exceptional product that few wineries can match today.
Garrido is synonymous with the history of an entire family dedicated to the production of sparkling wines.
